Forever doomed to be known as Twitter’s unofficial ‘Poet Laureate’, Brian Bilston is a writer who is often to be found sharing his verse on social media, with varying degrees of success.

He has published several collections of poetry: You Took the Last Bus Home (Unbound, 2016); Alexa, what is there to know about love? (Picador, 2021); and Days Like These (Picador, 2022). His attempt at writing a novel, Diary of a Somebody (Picador, 2019), was somehow shortlisted for the Costa First Novel award.

He has also written poetry for children, including a collection of football poems, 50 Ways to Score a Goal (Macmillan, 2021). His acclaimed poem Refugees was set to music by composer Mark-Anthony Turnage and turned into a picture book for children (Palazzo, 2019).

His latest publication, And So This is Christmas, is out in October 2023.
