Fiona Melrose

Fiona was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After a forgettable childhood she enjoyed protracted spells in academia, teaching and studying political theory.

Following a misguided adventure as a financial markets analyst in London, she moved to Suffolk to write and complete an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck, University of London. Much of her first novel was conjured up while stomping across fields in all kinds of atrocious weather, a habit her two charming dogs fully endorse.

She recently returned to Johannesburg, the setting for her second novel.
