Josey Rebelle

Josey Rebelle is a DJ and writer from London. Described by dance music bible Mixmag as ‘the genre-bending DJ dominating top-tier dancefloors worldwide’ and by The Face as ‘a hero of the UK music scene’, she has been DJing since her early teens and performing internationally for over a decade. Josey won the coveted BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix of the Year award in 2019 and has had a celebrated weekly radio show on Rinse FM since 2011. Her award-winning album Josey in Space was released on Beats in Space Records in 2020.

Josey studied Sociology at the London School of Economics. She graduated from the MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck in 2020 with Distinction and the highest marked dissertation. For this achievement, she was awarded the Birkbeck/Cove Park Writing Residency. Her fiction has been published in The Mechanics’ Institute Review and she has also written culture pieces for the Independent on Sunday and Time Out.

Josey is currently working on her first novel.
