More Beast and the Bethany and Emmy Lake Chronicles books to come!

As reported in the Bookseller on 5th July:

“Farshore has gobbled up two more books in The Beast and the Bethany series, written by Jack Meggitt-Phillips and illustrated by Isabelle Follath.

Lindsey Heaven, publishing director, acquired world rights to two books…The first of the new titles, The Beast and the Bethany: Child of the Beast, will publish in October 2023 followed by another in October 2024.

Lucy Courtenay, managing editor, added: “I am thrilled and mildly scared that the beast will be back with Farshore in two more hilarious adventures with Ebenezer and Bethany. We’re delighted to keep building this comedy powerhouse of a writer in the middle-grade space, and championing Jack Meggitt-Phillips as the true heir to Dahl and Snicket. So prepare to be eaten. I mean, wildly amused. Not eaten at all.”

“Picador has swooped for two Emmy Lake Chronicles books from Dear Mrs Bird author A J Pearce in a six-figure deal.

Commissioning editor Gillian Fitzgerald-Kelly acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, for two in the Emmy Lake Chronicles series from Jo Unwin at JULA. The third novel in the series Mrs Porter Calling and a fourth, as yet untitled book, will be the sequels to top 10 bestsellers Dear Mrs Bird, published by Picador in 2018, and Yours Cheerfully, released in 2021″

The paperback for Yours Cheerfully is out this summer.
